Scott Cooley

Technical & Safety Support Manager at EDF Energy

Scott Cooley is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in nuclear engineering and safety management, currently serving as the Technical & Safety Support Manager and Head of Station Defueling at EDF Energy since October 2010. In this role, Scott leads the nuclear decommissioning function, ensuring safe defueling across the EDF Energy fleet of nuclear power stations. Previous positions include Defueling Preparations Manager, Fuel Route Systems and Defueling Preparations Group Head, and Senior Design Engineer, reflecting a strong track record in strategic planning and execution of complex engineering programs. Prior to EDF Energy, Scott was a Nuclear Safety Case Engineer at AMEC and held various roles at the UK Ministry of Defence, including Government Supply Chain Manager and Resident Weapons Officer. Scott holds an MBA from Strathclyde Business School, a PgDip in Safety, Risk and Reliability Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, and a BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Glasgow Caledonian University.
