Mike Smith has extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, currently serving as Senior Manager of Solar at EDF Renewables North America since December 2004, where previous roles include Director of Operational Excellence and Director of Field Operations. Prior to this, Mike worked at NextEra Energy, Inc. from March 2003 to December 2004 as a Production Assurance Engineer, focusing on wind turbine performance analysis. Earlier in Mike's career, roles included Quality Assurance Manager and Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Eaton, and Design Engineer at John Deere. Mike holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University, earned between 1986 and 1990.
