Head Of Short Term Power Trading at EDF Trading

Thomas Pooler has extensive experience in the energy trading industry. Thomas started their career at HMR Environmental Consultants as a Geological Consultant Intern in 2008. In 2009, they interned as an Environmental Consultant at Five Oceans Environmental Services LLC.

In 2011, Thomas joined EDF Trading as a Risk Associate, and later became a Front Office Risk Analyst. Thomas then progressed to roles as a Junior Trader, Trader, and Senior Trader. In 2017, they became an Area Manager for Asia-Pacific, and in 2020, they were promoted to Head of Japanese Power Trading. Thomas served as a Senior Trader until 2021, when they transitioned to the role of Head of Short Term Power Trading. Thomas currently holds this position.

Thomas Pooler has a diverse education history. Thomas began their academic journey at Sir William Borlase's Grammar School, where they attended from 1999 to 2006. After completing their secondary education, Thomas enrolled at the University of Bristol, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Geoscience with International Study. Thomas successfully completed this program in 2010, earning a First Class degree.

In 2008, Thomas took the opportunity to study abroad and attended UC San Diego for a year. During this time, they focused on Environmental Geoscience.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Thomas furthered their education by enrolling in various institutions. In 2014, they attended The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI) and completed the Capital Markets Programme, specifically obtaining a Level 3 Certificate in Derivatives.

In 2016, Thomas pursued further education at the Society of Technical Analysts, where they obtained a Full Diploma with Distinction.
