Bob Carmichael

VP Engineering at Edfinity

Bob Carmichael has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry. Bob began their career in 1993 as a Lead Technical Consultant at BSG, where they developed a Powerbuilder application framework used on over 50 projects. In 1996, they moved to Catapult Technology as VP Engineering, where they led a team of eight in the development and launch of eight products, and developed strategic partnerships with Forté Software and Active Software. In 2001, they became a Product Management Consultant as an Independent. In 2004, they joined Solstice Software as CTO and led a cross-functional team of 16 that launched three major releases of Solstice Integra Enterprise. In 2007, they founded Cat 5 Labs, where they defined product roadmap and managed development of two social media applications. In 2008, they became Director of Engineering at Looking Glass Ventures, where they led agile product development of SmartBean, a K-12 education portal. In 2009, they moved to Barefoot Books as Director of Engineering. Finally, in 2012, they joined Edfinity as VP Engineering.

Bob Carmichael attended Rice University from 1989 to 1993, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Applied Math.
