Brian McFadden

Brian McFadden has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. In 2009, they started their career as a Systems Integrator at TRAXX Automation Ltd. Brian then worked as a Systems Support Engineer at Precision NanoSystems, Inc. from 2013 to 2014. Brian joined SMART Technologies in 2014 and held positions such as Sustaining Engineer, Cost Reduction Project Manager, Facilities Specialist, and Team Lead, Facilities. In 2018, they became the Chief Operating Officer at SiQ Mountain Industries Inc. and later transitioned to the role of VP of Operations. From 2018 to 2022, they served as a Technical Project Manager at MCFPS Ltd. In 2022, Brian worked as a Full Stack Developer Intern at FreshBooks before becoming a Graduate Student Researcher at The University of British Columbia. Currently, they are employed as an ML Solutions Engineer at Edge Impulse starting from 2023.

Brian McFadden obtained a B.A.Sc. degree in Engineering Physics (Mechatronic Science Option) from The University of British Columbia in 2008. Brian then pursued further studies at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and obtained an Associate Certificate in Marketing Management (Event Marketing) in 2013.

Continuing their education, Brian McFadden is currently pursuing an M.A.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering (Machine Learning) at The University of British Columbia, expected to be completed in 2024.

In addition to their academic achievements, Brian McFadden obtained a certification as a P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) from Engineers and Geoscientists BC in August 2013.
