Ian Stuart

Ian Stuart has been a Software Engineer at EDINA since October 2000, focusing on online services for the higher education and further education community within the UK. Key responsibilities include investigating new technologies, designing and implementing in-house packages, and supporting systems for the EDINA web server. Prior to this role, Ian served in various computing support positions at the University of Edinburgh from 1993 to 2000, where responsibilities included supporting staff and students in the Medical and Veterinary Schools and managing departmental computing needs. Earlier experience includes various roles such as contractor and field service engineer, alongside a diverse background in instructing water sports and working in manual labor roles. Ian holds a distinction in Electrical and Electronic Systems from City & Guilds, completing studies from 1983 to 1984, and graduated from McLaren High School in 1981.
