Michael Alter

Michael Alter is a Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a position they have held since 2018. They earned a BA in Economics from Northwestern University (1985-1989) and an MBA from Harvard Business School (1992-1994). They previously served as President/CEO of SurePayroll, Inc. from 2003 to 2014, and have held board or advisory roles at multiple firms, including Nambé (2011-2019), The Tie Bar (2013-2016), BigTime Software (Board Advisor, 2020-2022), and First Stop Health (Board Member, 2020–Present). They also serve as Chair of EDITED (2024–Present) and hold board positions at Dynamic Connections (2023–Present), Escalon Services, Inc. (2023–Present), and Pippin Title (2021–Present).
