Joy Scott has a diverse work experience, starting in 2013 as a Congressional Intern for the U.S. House of Representatives. Joy then worked as an Intern for the WSD HANDA Center for Human Rights and International Justice in 2014 and later as a Research Assistant at the Stanford Law School - Stanford Human Rights Center from 2015 to 2016. In 2016, they became a Legal Intern at the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project | Voices Against Violence and also served as a Tom Ford Fellow in Philanthropy at the NoVo Foundation. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Paralegal for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., where they conducted research for litigation matters and collaborated with attorneys on various tasks. Joy then transitioned to the field of education and taught History at Charlestown High School and Lane Technical College Prep High School from 2019 to 2021. Currently, Joy is working as a Student Success Manager at Edlyft since 2022.
Joy Scott's education history includes attending the Harvard Graduate School of Education from 2019 to 2020, where they earned a Master of Education - MEd degree in the Teacher Education Program. Prior to that, they attended Stanford University from 2012 to 2016 and earned a Bachelor's degree in History. In 2011 to 2012, they completed coursework in the GWU Exposure Program at The George Washington University. Joy Scott's high school education was completed at School Without Walls High School.
