Sandra Durden

Sandra Durden, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of education assessment and research. Prior to this, they worked as a Manager of Education Research at RTI International, where they provided expertise in digital learning and assessment design. Sandra also served as an Assessment Design Manager at Questar Assessment Inc., overseeing the design and implementation of assessment programs. Additionally, Sandra has held senior positions at McGraw-Hill Education CTB, American Institutes for Research, and Pearson, where they contributed to the development and management of educational assessments. Before transitioning into the assessment field, they worked as a Teacher, teaching mathematics to elementary and middle school students. Sandra started their career as a Legal Assistant, gaining experience in corporate document preparation and research. Sandra Durden, PhD has a diverse education history. Sandra received their Bachelor's Degree in Government (Pre-Law) and Spanish from Evangel University in 1986, and also completed some undergraduate coursework at Eastern Michigan University in 1983-1984. Sandra went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Mathematics, and Social Science from Saginaw Valley State University in 1996. Sandra then obtained a Master's Degree in Mathematics Teacher Education from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2006. Sandra continued their academic journey at the University of the Incarnate Word and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Leadership, with a specialty in Mathematics Education in 2023. Furthermore, Sandra holds a Texas Teacher Certificate from the Texas State Board for Educator Certification, which they obtained in 1996.
