For 10 years, we have been doing research to promote community actions and policies around consumption that promote human and environmental health. Promoted by grassroots peasant women's organizations in the southwestern departments of the country with whom we had been working to strengthen their nutritional health.
We work in protective consumption of human and environmental health, with a gender and differential approach, through research, social mobilization in health, education, promotion of healthy and sustainable food production initiatives. We appeal to communication, strategic litigation, and political impact within the framework of sustainable development goals.
Food and water health from seed to plate (consumption/rescue of traditional cuisine), promoted mainly by organizations of rural women.
We are framed in the importance that the consumer citizen understands his power to push the achievements of the sustainable development goals.
In terms of environmental health, we promote various strategies that reduce the carbon footprint, which prevents contamination of water and soils with heavy metals, and agrochemicals. We promote the disuse of plastics in all presentations. In the same way, we work for vehicle and vehicle safety.
I have managed to increase the tax on tobacco, and sweetened beverages that before our action even lacked value-added tax; We won before the Constitutional Court the right to inform and be informed (https://bit.ly/2R6s4SZ)(https://bit.ly/2TgzZjs), we promoted the Alliance for Food Health (composed of 32 producer organizations, peasant markets, of peasant and indigenous women who preserve native seeds and recover traditional culinary, etc).
We have managed to influence different local governments to assume a commitment to school food health.
We are part of the Colombian Table of Incidence for Chronic Diseases associated with the NCD Alliance and collaborate with the Colombian Public Health Association. We are part of OCLAC.
