Cari Johnson

Cari Johnson has dedicated over 25 years to education, serving as a Spanish and AP Spanish Teacher at Robbinsdale Area Schools since January 1997. During the 2022-2023 academic year, Johnson taught Spanish 2 and AP Spanish Literature and Culture, integrating culturally responsive practices and materials from a Fulbright Teacher Exchange in Chile into the curriculum. In addition to teaching, Johnson has taken on the role of Learning Leader, facilitating the implementation of Culturally Relevant Engagement Strategies. Also involved with Educational Testing Service (ETS) as a Reader for AP® Spanish Literature and Culture essays since 2016, Johnson has contributed to the education community as a presenter and mentor, co-presenting at numerous conferences and training teachers in various pedagogical methods. Johnson holds a Master of Arts in Teaching Languages and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Spanish Education, with ongoing professional learning in Secondary Spanish Immersion at the University of Minnesota. Additionally, Johnson is an artist, specializing in reimagined vintage jewelry.
