Shane, as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EducationScape, leads a dynamic team at the forefront of education publishing and event management. Under his visionary leadership, EducationScape has become a hub for critical educational discourse, thanks to its flagship news platforms - Schools Week and FE Week.
Until the end of 2023, Shane was the Managing Director of Learning and Skills, Events, Consultancy and Training Ltd. In December 2023 Shane became the majority shareholder and rebranded the organisation EducationScape. This new identity symbolised a fresh chapter in the organisation’s journey and renewed a commitment to invigorating the education sector with exceptional solutions and thought-provoking ideas.
With a keen focus on the evolving landscape of education, Shane worked on introducing FE Week in 2011. This publication, dedicated to the further education and skills sector in England, filled a much-needed gap in educational journalism. Building on this success, EducationScape’s portfolio expanded in 2014 by launching Schools Week, which offers comprehensive coverage of the education system from early years to secondary education.
Beyond these publishing endeavours, Shane plays a pivotal role in shaping educational dialogue as the Director of the renowned Festival of Education. His commitment to celebrating excellence in teaching led to his appointment as a trustee of the Teaching Awards Trust in 2020.
Shane's journey with EducationScape is not just about steering a company; it's about nurturing a community that fosters insightful dialogue and innovation in the field of education.
In addition to these responsibilities, Shane is an active and charismatic presence in the educational sector, regularly presenting and hosting a variety of education events and conferences. His ability to engage audiences and facilitate meaningful discussions has made him a sought-after host and speaker, known for bringing insights and energy to every event.
