Associate Director, Professional Learning at EDUCAUSE

Ryan MacTaggart, PhD, has a diverse work experience in various roles. Ryan has worked as a Thinker, Writer, and Speaker at The LIFE Council since November 2019. At EDUCAUSE, they are an Associate Director of Professional Learning, leading a team and collaborating with subject matter experts to develop learning programs since April 2020. Ryan has also served as an Adjunct Faculty and Professional School Development Partnership Coordinator at Colorado State University from August 2013 to April 2020. Ryan has experience in program coordination and leadership within Campus Recreation at the university. Additionally, Ryan worked as an Analyst at Continuum Advisory Group from May 2018 to July 2019, contributing research and human resource skills to management consulting projects in the Construction industry. Prior to that, they were a Secondary Teacher at Poudre School District from February 2013 to June 2019, teaching social studies and collaborating on course design and educational systems.

Ryan MacTaggart, PhD, has a strong education background in the fields of education, human resource studies, exercise science, and health promotion. In 2013, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Education and Human Resource Studies from Colorado State University. Prior to that, from 2012 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with a specialization in Sport Psychology at PennWest California.

In addition to their academic degrees, Ryan has obtained several certifications to further enhance their expertise. In 2022, they completed the Leading Change Institute at EDUCAUSE. Furthermore, in 2021, they obtained the Leadership Roundtable Thought Leader certification from the same institution.
