Leigh Perks has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. They began their career as a Program Manager at CGI and held that position until 1998. From 1995 to 1998, they also worked as a Sr. Project Manager at Bell Canada, specifically in the New Technologies division focusing on Internet technologies. Leigh then moved to INEX, where they served as the Director of Program Management from 1998 to 1999. Following that, they joined Infospace Inc as a Sr. Program Manager from 1999 to 2002. Leigh then transitioned to Expedia, where they held the position of Group Program Manager from 2002 to 2009, and later served as the Director of Product from 2009 to 2010. After Expedia, Leigh joined Microsoft as a Sr. Program Manager, focusing on Bing Commerce, from 2010 to 2011. Currently, Leigh is employed at Educurious as the Vice President of Projects, where they are working towards reducing high school dropout rates through project-based learning and curriculum development.

Leigh Perks earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Queen's University from 1986 to 1990. Leigh then acquired a French Language Certificate from McGill University in 1991. Leigh Perks completed their education by obtaining an MBA from McMaster University from 1992 to 1994. Leigh also has a certification in PMP Project Management from PMI.
