David Emmett

David Emmett has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 1990 with the US Army Corps of Engineers, where they were a Platoon Leader and Battalion Engineer. In 1995, they were a Company Commander of an NC Army National Guard, where they were deployed to Croatia and Bosnia in support of NATO peace-keeping mission Operation Joint Guard. Also in 1995, they co-founded and became CEO of IETI: Industrial Engineering & Technology, Inc., an internet marketing company. From 1996 to 2000, they were the Chief Investment Officer of First Flight Venture Fund, managing a seed stage venture fund targeting technology start-ups in North Carolina. From 2000 to 2004, they were the President and CEO of NC Technological Development Authority, an economic development organization specializing in jobs and wealth creation through development of new technology based companies. Finally, from 2004 to 2010, they were a Real Estate Entreprenuer at Patriot Properties, LLC, building an investment portfolio in residential and multi-family real estate, as well as providing commercial consulting services to multiple private firms.

David Emmett obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University between 1984 and 1989. David then attended Duke University's Fuqua School of Business for an MBA between 1994 and 1996. David also holds a Professional Engineer certification.
