Ryan Miller is a risk management and organizational resilience professional with 25 years of experience in public safety, homeland security, and emergency management. After beginning their career as a firefighter and paramedic, Ryan served as the Director of the Howard County Office of Emergency Management, where they led teams to develop emergency plans and successfully coordinated recovery efforts during significant disasters, earning national recognition from FEMA. Currently, Ryan is a Principal at Critical Functions®, where they advise organizations on business continuity and risk management strategies, and also lectures at The George Washington University, teaching graduate courses in emergency management. Additionally, Ryan is an appointee to the Maryland Governor's Emergency Management Advisory Council.
