Fred Hu

Fred is founder and Chairman of Primavera Capital Group, a global investment firm focused on innovative industries. He also serves as the non-executive chairman of Yum China Holdings Inc., and sits on several corporate boards including ICBC, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, and UBS Group AG. In addition, Fred is co-chair of the Nature Conservancy’s Asia Pacific Council, a Trustee of of the China Medical Board, a member of the Board of Governors of the Chinese International School, a member of the Global Advisory Board at the Council of Foreign Relations and the Jerome A. Chazen Institute of International Business at Columbia University, and the Global Advisory Council of Harvard University.

Previously Fred was Co-Director of National Center for Economic Research and a professor at Tsinghua University. He also served as Chairman of Greater China and a Partner at Goldman Sachs.

Fred holds a Master in Engineering Science from Tsinghua University, and a Master and Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.
