Rajan Patel

Rajan Patel is an experienced professional in the fields of energy management and climate change, currently serving as an Advisor for Climate Change and Energy Management at the Region of Peel since August 2023. Previously, Rajan worked as an Energy Manager at Efficiency Nova Scotia, where efforts were focused on reducing climate change impacts through support and incentives. Rajan also held the role of Energy Projects Specialist at Evolution Mining, contributing to various energy initiatives at a gold mine in Ontario. An academic background includes teaching positions at Conestoga College and Centennial College, specializing in electrical and energy systems. Earlier experience encompasses leadership roles as CEO of Surya Ventures Corp., where Rajan led projects on biomass power systems, and Managing Director at Universal Agencies Ltd, an agro-processing firm in Malawi. Rajan holds a B.Sc (Honours) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from King's College London and a Certificate in Computer Programming from Durham College.
