Lézel Jonker

Lézel Jonker has accumulated extensive work experience in compliance and regulatory roles. Lézel started their career as an Attorney at Roestoff, Venter & Kruse Attorneys, specializing in commercial and competition law. Afterward, they worked as an Attorney at Adams & Adams. Lézel then shifted their focus to compliance, joining Momentum as a Compliance Officer, where they provided regulatory risk management support and assisted with the implementation of legislation and standards. Lézel later joined Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) as a Compliance Associate and then as a Compliance Manager, where they provided advice, drafted compliance policies, managed regulatory processes, and supported conflict of interest identification and management. Lézel's most recent role was as the Group Chief Compliance Officer at Efficient Group (Pty) Ltd.

Lézel Jonker has a diverse education history. In 1998 to 2001, they attended the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Lézel then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in LLB (Law) from 2002 to 2006 at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. In 2010 to 2013, they studied Introduction to Compliance, Monitoring, and Compliance Risk Management Plans at the Compliance Institute of South Africa. In 2013, they obtained a Certificate in Compliance Management from the University of Johannesburg. Finally, in 2016, they received a Certificate in Global Financial Compliance from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI).
