EFJ is the school for a profession undergoing transformation: the explosion of social networks, video, smartphone usage, and more generally, the accelerated development of all new information technologies make understanding and mastering these technologies indispensable for those who want to practice the profession of journalism. 
 
Of course, the fundamentals remain the same: a journalist must know how to research and, more than ever, verify information. Their qualities have not changed either: curiosity, rigor, and independence from power. But to produce and disseminate their work at the pace and format of today's media, they must also be agile on the internet and social networks, acquire the latest storytelling techniques both in writing and in image and sound.
