Thanassis Bantios

Thanassis Bantios is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and software development. Currently serving as the VP of Engineering at efood since October 2024, Bantios oversees the Food Shopping and Quick Commerce teams, focusing on high-quality software delivery. Previously, Bantios held the role of CTO at Linearity from February 2023 to September 2024, where the emphasis was on building an innovative design suite influenced by Agile, DevOps, and MLOps principles. From July 2012 to January 2023, Bantios was integral to FREENOW, primarily as CTO and VP of Engineering at Beat, successfully guiding the engineering organization to achieve quality software outcomes. Initial career stages included roles as Senior Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager at Beat, as well as iOS and web development at Reality Post Productions. Thanassis Bantios holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Piraeus and a Bachelor's degree in Product and Systems Design Engineering from the University of the Aegean.
