Tom Streef is a PhD candidate currently investigating differences in processes within developing, adult, and post-injury epicardium, focusing on cardiac repair mechanisms following myocardial infarction. They have previously interned at CeMM and Leiden University Medical Center, where they gained experience in non-coding RNA biology and venous thrombosis, respectively. Tom holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Universiteit Leiden and is now working as a Senior Advisore in information management at Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, with additional responsibilities as a Business Analyst and Product Owner at Heart for Health.
