Don Bora

Don Bora has held a variety of positions in the technology industry since 2004. Don began their career at Bank of America as a Vice President/Senior Software Engineer, where they contributed to deployment and configuration management and was a member of the strategic initiatives group. In 2007, they joined Designkitchen as the Director of Application Development, overseeing Ruby on Rails and .Net development. Don then moved to WisePatient in 2009 as an Advisor/CTO, where they were responsible for the technical IP transition to Sharecare, Inc. in 2012. In 2012, they co-founded MobileMakersEdu, where they served as a curriculum author and iOS instructor. In 2017, they became an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University Medill School, and a Co-Founder of Creative Candor LLC. In 2022, they joined 1871 as an Expert In Residence, running the Explore sessions for the PYROS program. Don Bora also co-founded Eight Bit Studios in 2008, where they work with a great breadth of clients from Startups to Enterprise.

Don Bora attended Crystal Lake Central High from 1981 to 1985. Don then went on to New Mexico State University, graduating with a BS and BA in Computer Science and Linguistics in 1990. During their time at NMSU, they also studied Germanic Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg from 1987 to 1988. Don also obtained a Laser Coaching MASTERCLASS certification from Tilt 365 in June 2022.
