Michael Atcheson currently serves as the Head of Future Power Markets at SONI - System Operator for Northern Ireland since November 2019. Prior to this role, Michael held the position of Trading Operations Lead at EirGrid and contributed to the European Market Integration Project. Between December 2011 and June 2014, Michael was a Senior Market Controller for the Single Electricity Market. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Queen's University Belfast and a Graduate Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the University of Ulster. Education was completed at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution.
