Michael Hand

Michael Hand is currently a Board Member at EirGrid. Prior to this, they were with J. B. Barry and Partners Limited, Irish Archaeological Consultancy Ltd, and Grangegorman Development Agency, where they served as Chief Executive Officer & Director. Before that, they were with WYG Group as MD - Engineering Ireland, and also held the title of Non Executive Director with EirGrid Plc.

Michael Hand has a certificate and diploma in company direction from the Institute of Directors (IoD), a master of business administration (MBA) from University College Dublin, and a bachelor of engineering (BE) in civil engineering from the University of Galway. Michael is also certified by the Irish Academy of Engineering as a Fellow (FIAE), the Institute of Directors in Ireland as a Chartered Director (C Dir), the Institution of Civil Engineers as a Fellow (FICE), the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management as a Fellow (FCIWEM), Engineers Ireland as a Chartered Engineer / Fellow (CEng, FIEI), and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management as a Chartered Water & Environmental Manager (C.WEM).
