Mo Cloonan

Mo Cloonan is an accomplished energy professional with extensive experience in market consulting, project management, and innovation leadership within the energy sector. Currently serving as a Market Consultant in Future Operations Design Authority at EirGrid Group since February 2025, Mo previously held the role of Principal Project Manager at EPRI, where significant projects focused on hyperscale data center grid integration were led. Notably, Mo has also worked as the Innovation and EV Sector Lead and Innovation Manager at SSE Airtricity, developing strategies for electric vehicle offerings and fostering collaborative approaches with partners. Experience as a Senior Energy Policy Advisor at EirGrid involved leading market design coordination and managing cross-border operational developments, while earlier roles included senior analytical positions at the Commission for Energy Regulation and Community Energy Scotland. Mo holds an MSc in Energy Systems and Environment from the University of Strathclyde and a BSc in Environmental Biology from Queens University, Belfast.
