Sharon Smith is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in clinical and research assays. Currently serving as Sr. Manager of Clinical Biomarkers and Companion Diagnostics at Eisai US since September 2017, Sharon also manages Biobank Operations and oversees contract manufacturing of reagents and kits. Previously, at Morphotek, Inc. as Manager of Biobank Operations from March 2014 to July 2021, Sharon managed external biospecimen storage and collaborated with CROs for biospecimen inventory management. Prior to that role, as a Senior Scientist at Merck from January 2007 to 2013, Sharon contributed to staphylococcal vaccine research, focusing on vaccine target assessments in rodent models. Sharon's early career involved developing tumor marker assays at Centocor, Fujirebio Diagnostics, and Biosmith Associates from 1991 to 2006, as well as a Research Associate position at A.I. duPont Institute. Educationally, Sharon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Penn State University.
