The portfolio of service provided by EJ Smith includes Construction Management, General Construction Contractor and self-performing Concrete Contractor working a subcontractor, for projects in both Commercial Building and Heavy/Highway market segments.

With both having life-long dreams of building a “best-in-class” construction company.  Co-founders Eugene Walker, Jr. and Emmitt J. Smith, III teamed up as business partners in 2010 to make those dreams become a reality.

Co-Founder Emmitt J. Smith, III, a well renowned athlete, businessman and philanthropist heretofore, extended his talent and resources into the real estate development and construction industry.   Resolved to emerge as an accomplished, respected developer and builder.

Co-Founder Eugene Walker, Jr. with over 30-years in the construction industry, is a well-respected and accomplished construction professional.  As former Director of Austin Industries, he has spent his career constructing many noteworthy projects in the Dallas market.  Successively establishing sound working relationships with many owners, developers, contractors, community leaders and public officials along the way.

Both Emmitt and Eugene alike, strive to grow and create opportunities for other minority companies through strategic alliances, and take strides towards achieving that.  Be it building bridges through mentorship or opening doors through philanthropic endeavors.  EJ Smith Construction Company believes that making a difference starts with being the difference.

The team's range of facility remodel and renovation construction knowledge includes Hospitals, Semi-Conductor Plants, Food Manufacturing Plants, Airport Terminals, Schools and Office Interiors.  Working experiences include repurposing existing structures, structural modifications and strengthening for changing load conditions.
