Our Flagship Initiative: Didi Ka Dhaba – Community Kitchens Empowering Women
As on Date, the Community Kitchens of Ekta foundation serves more than 50,000 meals per day across locations

At the heart of our mission lies “Didi Ka Dhaba” — a growing network of community kitchens run by women entrepreneurs from low-income households. What began as a small pilot in Delhi has evolved into a national-scale social enterprise model that empowers over 300 women to earn stable incomes by turning their culinary skills into sustainable livelihoods.

Through training, mentorship, and incubation, each “Didi” gains entrepreneurial, digital, and financial-management skills, along with FSSAI certification and market access via Swiggy, Zomato, ONDC, and CSR partnerships. Every kitchen follows eco-friendly practices, using biodegradable packaging and promoting zero-waste operations — proving that inclusion and sustainability can grow together.

Ekta Foundation now envisions scaling Didi Ka Dhaba into a pan-India movement through collaborations with Skill India, NULM, and local municipalities. The next phase includes a dedicated mobile app and a franchise-based cluster model linking kitchens with nutrition programs, corporate partners, and FPO supply chains.
