Founded in 2001, El Hogar Ministries, Inc. (EHMI), is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Andover, Massachusetts, whose purpose is to provide financial support for El Hogar Projects in Honduras. With a full-time staff of two, a board, and volunteers from the United States and Canada, the organization currently raises approximately $1.5 million annually from student sponsorships, special events, and donations from individuals, churches, and other organizations.

Founded in 1979 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, El Hogar Projects (EHP) gives 200 Honduran children and youth from vulnerable circumstances a loving home, an education, and vocational training at its two centers. At the Elementary School in Tegucigalpa, boys and girls, beginning at age five, live in a caring environment through sixth grade. They learn to respect and live with others, while also adapting to discipline and receiving a quality education.

After completing the sixth grade, the students continue their education at the Technical Institute, where they will receive academic classes from seventh to twelfth grade, and vocational training in welding and electricity.

Girls were first accepted into El Hogar Projects in 2007.  For a number of years, the girls attended a private secondary school, but starting in 2018 they attend classes at the Technical Institute, learning welding and electricity alongside their male cohorts.

El Hogar Projects also has a working farm that provides sustenance for the other educational centers and in the long-term aim to increase El Hogar's capacity to become more self-sustaining by selling their products in the local market.
