Nick Herbert

Nick Herbert has extensive work experience in the technology industry, with a focus on cloud computing and architecture. Nick is currently working at Elastacloud as an AWS Engineer, a role they have held since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Elastacloud as a Cloud Consultant from March 2020 to March 2021.

Before joining Elastacloud, Nick owned their own company, Formbyte Data Limited, where they served as the Owner from February 1999 to March 2021.

From November 2018 to March 2020, Nick worked as an AWS Consultant at St. James's Place Wealth Management. Prior to that, they were an AWS Architect at IBM from June 2017 to February 2020.

Nick also has experience as a Technical Architect at DXC Technology from June 2016 to June 2017 and as an IBM Power Build Engineer at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from January 2016 to July 2016.

Earlier in their career, Nick worked at IBM in various roles, including UNIX Team Technical Lead and Power/Power HA/AIX Specialist from August 2008 to January 2016, pSeries/HACMP Specialist from August 2007 to August 2008, and AIX/HACMP/HAGEO Specialist from June 2000 to July 2005.

Nick started their career at IMS Health as an AIX/SP Specialist from February 1999 to June 2000, where they were based in Frankfurt, Germany. In this role, they were responsible for building, maintaining, and upgrading SP systems running AIX 4 and 5 connected to SSA and VSS storage. Nick also had TSM Server and Client administration responsibilities.

Nick Herbert attended Thamesview School from 1985 to 1990, where they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. In terms of additional certifications, Nick obtained various certifications related to cloud computing and data management. In 2017, they became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate. In 2018, they earned the AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification. In 2019, they obtained the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification. In 2020, Nick achieved the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate and the AWS Certified Security Speciality certifications. Nick also became an AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional. In 2021, Nick obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals, AZ-303 Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies, and AZ-304 Microsoft Azure Architect Design certifications. Additionally, they became a Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert in the same year.
