Tim Schnell

Tim Schnell is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in technology and management. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering for Kibana at Elastic since May 2019, Tim previously co-founded Subscription Box Kids, a project aimed at fostering a love for learning in children, which was acquired in August 2023. Tim has also held notable positions such as Head of Engineering at New Knowledge, where the engineering team was expanded significantly, and at Cratejoy, contributing to substantial team growth and operational strategy. Tim’s earlier roles include software development at Rackspace, where contributions to open-source projects were made, and a Senior Software Engineer position at The University of Texas at Austin, focusing on data-driven decision-making systems. Tim holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin.
