Erik Elmroth

Chief Scientist and Founder at Elastisys

Erik Elmroth has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and academic institutions. In 1995, they began their career at the Department of Computing Science at Umeå University, where they held various roles such as Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor, Deputy Head of the Department, and Deputy Director of High-Performance Computing Science (HPC2N). Erik later became the Head of the Department of Computing Science in 2009 and served in this role until 2021. In 2011, Erik Elmroth founded Elastisys and served as the Chief Scientist and Founder. Additionally, they have been actively involved in the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP) since 2015, holding various positions in the program management. Erik Elmroth also gained research experience as a Post Doctoral Fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 1998 and as a Visiting Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1996.

Erik Elmroth completed their education in Computing Science at Umeå University. From 1985 to 1995, they obtained a BSc, MSc, PhLic, and PhD degrees in this field.
