Emma D'Cessare

Program Assistant

Emma D'cessare is a dedicated clinical researcher at Seattle Children's, collaborating with Dr. John Meehan, MD since October 2023. Concurrently, Emma serves as a program assistant at Elderwise, providing support in activities for individuals with memory loss, and as a reading tutor for elementary school students in under-resourced areas of Washington. Emma's experience includes working as an emergency department assistant at UW Medicine, where real-life patient interactions enhanced medical knowledge. Emma is also the editor-in-chief of Grey Matters Journal, overseeing production and outreach, and has held leadership roles in the American Medical Women's Association as UW Chapter Vice President. With a commitment to community service, Emma has experience supporting dementia patients at Cedar Creek Memory Care Homes, mentoring first-year university students, and volunteering with Crisis Text Line to assist individuals in crisis. Emma's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Washington, building on an International Baccalaureate Diploma from Edmonds Woodway High School.
