Neil MacKellar's work experience is as follows:

1. Business Architect at Electrum since June 2021.

2. Product Manager at Electrum from 2018 to June 2020.

3. Software Developer at Electrum from 2014 to 2018.

4. Postdoctoral Research Associate at African Climate & Development Initiative from 2011 to 2014.

5. Postdoctoral Research Associate at Danish Meteorological Institute from 2008 to 2011.

Neil MacKellar attended the University of Cape Town from 1998 to 2001, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Environmental and Geographical Science. Later, from 2003 to 2007, they returned to the University of Cape Town to obtain their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Climatology.
