Derek Jones

Vice President of Engineering Services at Elemance

Derek Jones is currently a Senior Engineer at Elemance. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Research Engineer at Wake Forest University from May 2014 to February 2019. Derek also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Kevin P. Granata Biomechanics Lab from September 2012 to April 2013, where they were responsible for musculoskeletal biomechanics experiments, Vicon motion capture, dynamometers, electromyography, and inverse dynamics.

Derek Jones earned their Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Wake Forest University, where they graduated Magna Cum Laude. Derek also holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Wake Forest University, as well as a B.S. in Engineering Science and Mechanics (Biomechanics) from Virginia Tech. Derek Jones is certified by LSTC in Fracture, Damage, and Failure in LS-DYNA and Introduction to LS-DYNA, and they also hold a certification in Introduction to LS-PrePost.

Their manager is Joel Stitzel, CEO, Co-Founder. They are on a team with Elizabeth Carlson - Project Manager, Matthew L. Davis - VP of Technology & Development, and Zach Hostetler - Senior Engineer.
