Gemma Murphy

Gemma Murphy currently serves as the Principal Mine Surveyor and Mining Team Lead at Element Geospatial, following the company's merger with Insight UAS in July 2024. With a strong background in mine surveying, Gemma has prior experience as Principal Mine Surveyor and Operations Manager at Mine Survey Plus, overseeing specialized projects and daily operations. Gemma is also actively involved in multiple advisory and board roles, including membership on the Discipline of Spatial Sciences Advisory Board at Curtin University and the Western Australian Mines Survey Board. Additionally, Gemma has extensive teaching experience as a lecturer at North Metropolitan TAFE, focusing on mine surveying courses. Previous positions include Mining Services Coordinator at Land Surveys and various surveyor roles at prominent mining companies, contributing to significant advancements in surveying techniques and operations throughout a 25-year career, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Mine and Engineering Surveying from Curtin University.
