Hubert Chathi (Chan)

Hubert Chathi (Chan) has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Hubert is currently working as a Senior Software Developer at Element since 2018.

Previously, in 2018, they were a Spec Core Team member at Matrix.org, where they wrote and reviewed Matrix spec change proposals and made changes to the Matrix spec.

Hubert has a long-standing association with Debian, starting from 2003. Hubert has worked as a Developer since 2006 and has also served as a Package Maintainer from 2003 to 2006.

From 2011 to 2018, they worked at Much Learning as a Programmer/Analyst/Scientist. Before that, they were a Software Developer at Remote Learner Canada from 2008 to 2011.

Hubert began their academic journey at the University of Alberta, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computing Science from 1996 to 2000. Following this, they furthered their studies at the University of Waterloo, where they completed a Master of Mathematics (M.Math) degree in Computer Science between 2001 and 2003. Hubert continued their education at the same institution, focusing on their Ph.D. in Computer Science from 2003 to 2008.
