Ephram Cohen

Principal Software Engineer at Element Science

Ephram Cohen has a long and varied work experience, beginning with a Student role at UC Berkeley in 1985. Ephram then worked as a Programmer Level III and IT Administrator for the Psychology Department. From 2000 to 2007, they were the Director of Software Engineering and Senior Software Engineer at Sound ID, where they were responsible for adapting psychoacoustic experimental methods for web delivery and creating utilities for researchers. In 2014, they became the VP of Software at BatAndCat, where they were involved in the vision of the company and helped to define their products. In 2016, they became a Software Engineer at empath, where they assumed responsibility for the Hardware Abstraction Layer and implemented double buffering for the audio input/output. In 2017, they worked as a Senior Firmware Engineer at Knowles Intelligent Audio, where they integrated Bluetooth Classic and Low Energy into their new platform and created custom BT and BLE Profiles for command, debug, and OTAU. Ephram also worked as a Software Consultant at Jaybird, joining a team that was woefully behind schedule and quickly getting their new product on schedule and shipping in time for the Holiday Season. As of 2022, they are a Principal Software Engineer at Element Science, Inc.

Ephram Cohen began their education in 1977 at Queens College, studying Computer Science. Ephram continued their education at the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science in 1997. Ephram also holds certifications from the ISO - International Organization for Standardization, including ISO 13485:2003 and ISO 9001:2008.
