Sales Director Machining at Element Six

Wayne Leahy has over 20 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Wayne started their career as a Process Engineer at AlliedSignal automotive, working on projects related to the compressor wheel manufacturing process for turbochargers. Wayne then joined PPI Adhesive Products Ltd as a Research and Development Scientist, where they collaborated with worldwide sales offices and companies to develop specialist self-adhesive products for different industries. Since 2005, Wayne has been working at Element Six, starting as a Characterization Engineer and later becoming the Regional Technical Manager for Asia. Currently, they hold the position of Sales Director Machining at Element Six, where they lead a team focused on providing customers with superhard material solutions that drive productivity in advanced manufacturing. Wayne also served as the Advanced Materials Applications Manager at Element Six, leading a team of engineers, scientists, technicians, partners, and collaborators in conducting research in machining science, materials science, and tool fabrication technologies. Throughout their career, Wayne has gained expertise in process engineering, material selection, research and development, and sales management.

Wayne Leahy completed their education at the University of Limerick, where they obtained a BSc degree in Materials Science from 1995 to 1999. Wayne then pursued a PhD in Aerospace Adhesive Bonding from 1999 to 2002 at the same institution. In addition to their academic achievements, Wayne holds a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) from the Scrum Alliance, although the specific date of when they obtained this certification is not provided.
