Matt Hanson

Matt Hanson is the current Geospatial Engineering Lead at Element 84. Matt has been with the company since March 2019 and in their current role since November 2021. Prior to that, they were a Senior Software Engineer with Element 84 from March 2019 to November 2021. Matt has also worked as a Geospatial Developer with Development Seed from January 2016 to March 2019, SpaceNinja Inc from July 2015 to November 2015, and Applied Geosolutions from September 2010 to April 2015. In their previous roles, they have developed software framework and codes for mass data processing, operational algorithms, and predictive models using remote sensing data including optical, radar, LiDAR and climate models. Matt has also done full stack web development utilizing Django to create decision support tools for land use, climate change, public health, water quality, and greenhouse gas estimates.

Matt Hanson attended Hampden Academy for their high school education. Matt then went on to Rochester Institute of Technology where they earned their B.S. in Imaging and Photographic Technology. Finally, they completed their M.S. in Imaging Science at Rochester Institute of Technology.
