Tracey Pilone

Tracey Pilone is the Co-Founder and President of Element 84. Tracey has over 20 years of experience in the technical writing and construction management industries.

Tracey started their career as a Technical Writer for ITT in August 2005. There, they worked with a software development team maintaining documentation in Docbook and testing as needed. After three years at ITT, Tracey took on the role of Assistant Project Manager for The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. In this role, they worked as part of an on-site construction management team handling subcontractors, quality control, and owner relations. Some of the notable projects they worked on during their time at The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company include 4501 N. Fairfax Drive, Arlington and the NTSB Training Facility in Ashburn.

In May 1998, Tracey started working as an Office Engineer for Clark Construction. As a junior member of a construction management team, they handled subcontractors, quality control, and owner relations. Tracey was also responsible for the design and construction of excavation support systems. During their time at Clark Construction, they worked on some high-profile projects including The Victor Building, Washington DC; 101 Constitution Ave., Washington DC; and the Red Cross HQ in Washington, DC.

In March 2000, Tracey left Clark Construction to join The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company as their Assistant Project Manager. After three years in this role, they transitioned to O'Reilly Media, Inc. where they worked for eight years before founding Element 84 in 2018.

Tracey Pilone has a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University, a BS in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech, and a M. Ed. in Social Foundations of Education from the University of Virginia. Tracey is also a Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Tracey Pilone reports to Dan Pilone, Co-Founder, CEO & CTO. Some of their coworkers include Emily Weyrich - Senior Human Resources & Office Manager, Lauren Frederick - Director of Engineering, and Scott Caltagirone - COO.
