Michael Johanning

Michael Johanning has a diverse work experience starting from 1998 as a PhD student at Leibniz Universität Hannover. Michael then worked at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as a PostDoc from 2004 to 2005. In 2006, they joined Universität Siegen as a Senior Scientist and Privatdozent. Most recently, in 2020, they co-founded eleQtron GmbH.

Michael Johanning has a solid education background in the field of physics. Michael completed their High School education at Gymnasium Uetze from 1986 to 1991. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Physics from Leibniz Universität Hannover, graduating in 1998. Michael then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from the same institution, completing their studies in 2003. Johanning further enhanced their expertise by undertaking a PostDoc position at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) from 2004 to 2006, focusing on laser cooling, dipole traps, Bose-Einstein condensation, and photoassociation.
