Kevin Mpunga

Kevin Mpunga has a diverse work experience. Kevin is currently serving as the CEO and Co-Founder of Elev Homes Inc. since January 2020. Kevin also joined Alberta Health Services as a Registered Nurse in September 2022. In the same year, they participated in the Next 36 | 2022 Cohort program at NEXT Canada, where they received mentorship and learned about building competitive businesses. Prior to this, Kevin worked as an Undergraduate Nurse at Alberta Health Services from January 2022 to April 2022. Kevin has also held leadership roles in the University of Alberta Black Students Association, serving as President from May 2021 to April 2022 and Vice President in the previous years. Additionally, they worked as an Emergency Undergraduate Nurse at Covenant Health from May 2021 to March 2022. Kevin has entrepreneurial experience as the Founder of an innovative Youth-Led Startup in the League of Innovators Labs Batch 6 program. Kevin also worked as a Photographer at Mpunga Picha from May 2017 to May 2021. Earlier in their career, they gained healthcare experience as a Healthcare Assistant at Emerald Gardens Retirement Residence from April 2020 to January 2021 and as a Nursing Student at Covenant Health from January 2020 to April 2020.

Kevin Mpunga completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing - BsN with a specialization in Bilingual Nursing from the University of Alberta. Kevin attended the university from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained their High School Diploma from St. Joseph Catholic High School, where they studied from 2015 to 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Kevin also obtained several certifications. In April 2022, they completed the Propel program offered by Startup Edmonton. In July 2021, they received certification in the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) from the National Emergency Nurses Association. Furthermore, in August 2019, they obtained the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification from Heart & Stroke.
