Bert Vargas

Bert Vargas, MD, is an Associate Vice President in Neuroscience for US Medical Affairs at Eli Lilly and Company, where they have been since 2020. They completed their undergraduate and medical education at the University of Arizona, followed by a residency in neurology at New York University and a headache medicine fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Bert previously served as a United States Air Force flight surgeon and directed the UT Southwestern Sports Neuroscience and Concussion Program. They have acted as a sideline neurotrauma consultant for football and women's soccer at Arizona State University and are currently an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant for the NFL, as well as a member of the NFL Head, Neck, and Spine Committee.
