Desta Bume

Desta Bume is a highly motivated and adaptive medicinal chemist currently serving as the Senior Scientific Lead in Medicinal Chemistry at Eli Lilly. With extensive experience in organic synthesis, chemical biology, and medicinal chemistry, they have developed innovative methods for drug development and optimization. Desta earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University after completing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry at the University of Tennessee. Their previous roles include a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Institute of Health and various positions at Loxo@Lilly, where they contributed to the advancement of therapeutic compounds aimed at improving the lives of cancer patients.
