Ivan Burnside

Ivan Burnside is the Chief Patent Counsel for International Litigation at Eli Lilly and Company, a role held since 2018. They are a Chartered Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney, and European Patent Litigator. Ivan previously served as Associate General Patent Counsel and Senior Director of European Patent Operations at Eli Lilly, leading the European Patent Department. They began their career as a European Patent Attorney and Trainee at J A Kemp & Co from 1995 to 2000. Ivan holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a Diplôme in Law - Litigation, with honors from the University of Cambridge.
