John Bowen

John Bowen is an accomplished professional in the fields of chemical engineering and biotechnology, currently serving as Senior Director of Hybrid Operations at Eli Lilly and Company since July 2025. Previous roles include Chief of Staff and Senior Director of Manufacturing at SK pharmteco, as well as Senior Director of Nucleic Acids and Plasmid Operations at the Center for Breakthrough Medicines. John has also held positions at Novartis and Merck, advancing from a Senior Scientist to a Bioprocess Development Engineer. Academic credentials include a PhD and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University.
