John Markman is currently the Vice President of Global Pain at Eli Lilly & Company, a role they began in August 2023. They also serve as Vice Chair for Clinical Research and Professor of Neurosurgery and Neurology at the University of Rochester, positions held since 2007 and 2020, respectively. Previously, John worked in the Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1997 to 2000 and in the Department of Anesthesiology at Lahey Clinic from 2002 to 2005. John earned an MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1996 and a BA in Philosophy from Haverford College in 1989.
