Michael Kaufmann, MD, FACEP, FAEMS has extensive experience in emergency medicine and out-of-hospital care. Serving as Medical Director for EMS, StatFlight, and Critical Care Transport at Ascension from June 2001 to April 2022, Michael created and led a large practice providing medical oversight for numerous EMS agencies in Indiana. Currently, as Associate Vice President of Global Employee Health Services at Eli Lilly and Company, responsibilities include overseeing the health of nearly 50,000 employees. Michael also serves as Chief Medical Officer of Indiana EMS Physicians, LLC, and is the CEO and Founder of EMSEducation.net, LLC, focusing on online continuing education for healthcare personnel. Additional roles include State Medical Director for Indiana, an Emergency Physician Vice-President at St. Vincent Emergency Physicians, and Medical Director for PHI Air Medical. Michael holds an MD from the Indiana University School of Medicine, completed residency training at Case Western Reserve University, and has a background in microbiology.
